Used screens: trommel, star and vibrating
A screen separates material by size: mature compost from oversize, soil from stones, fine chips from coarse. We sell used screens, keep them running at our Belpasso yard and supply the parts that wear out: brushes, polyurethane wheels and rollers, gearboxes.
The trommel screen is the most common in composting plants and waste treatment: a cylindrical drum with a fixed mesh rotates, the fine fraction falls through and the oversize exits at the end. Changing the drum or mesh changes the output size. Mobile versions move between sites.
The star screen uses shafts with rotating polyurethane stars that carry the material: it handles wet, fibrous material (fresh compost, biomass, shredded wood) that would clog a trommel mesh. The output size depends on the spacing between the stars. Polyurethane wheels and rollers are wear parts we keep in stock.
The vibrating screen works with an inclined deck of stacked meshes set in vibration: precise fractions on aggregates, soil, sand and dry material. We do not always have one in the yard: our used stock rotates, and when it is not there we look for it. Tell us what you need to screen and at what throughput, and we reply with what we have or can source.

- Trommel for mature compost, soil and mixed waste where you need a fixed size and robustness; star screen for wet, fibrous material that would clog a mesh. Send a photo of the material and we tell you which one.
- What wears out on a used screen?
- On a trommel the drum cleaning brushes and the gearbox; on a star screen the polyurethane wheels and rollers. We supply them from stock, shipped throughout Italy.
- Can I see the used screens running?
- Yes: every screen in the catalog can be inspected running at our yard in Belpasso, Catania (IT), with real photos and videos on request.
